Piddick steps up to new Jets role

MORETON Bay United has appointed Adam Piddick as its new Technical Director.

Adam takes up his new role immediately, after guiding the club’s senior men’s team to the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Premiership and Championship double.

He will continue to be closely involved with the Senior Men’s team while overseeing all other age groups at Moreton Bay United.

Adam replaces Salvatore Sottile, who was the club’s foundation technical director and who previously fulfilled the same role at Albany Creek Excelsior (ACE).

“Following our annual review and evaluating all applicants, we believe Adam is best man to take Moreton Bay United forward,” said Chairman of the Board Frank Heim.

“We have been extremely impressed by his work on and off the pitch and his achievements in his first season coaching at senior level have been outstanding.

“It was a hard decision with many different factors involved.  But we believe this change is the right move for the club.

“We thank Salvo for his work in establishing Moreton Bay United in the NPL Queensland and before that as Technical Director of Albany Creek Excelsior.

“Salvo will always be part of the Moreton Bay United family and always welcome at Wolter Park and Brendale. We wish him every success in the future.”

Adam Piddick said the opportunity to oversee the selection, development and running of Moreton Bay United’s teams was an exciting challenge.

“These opportunities do not come along very often and I was delighted to be offered and accept this role,” he said.

“Strong foundations have been laid down by Moreton Bay United in its first three seasons and I look forward to building on the work of many people, including Salvo.

“It will be a challenge trying to take this club to the next level in all age groups, but I cannot wait to get started.”

Adam joined Moreton Bay United 12 months ago as Head Coach of the Senior team after coaching Brisbane Strikers NPL Queensland Under 20 team last season and Strikers’ Under 18 team in 2013.

Before that he was junior director of coaching at Loganholme and played in the Queensland State League with Redlands.

He is currently completing his Asia A Licence.
