Fine finish from new Jets' signing

MORETON Bay United opened its pre-season schedule with a 1-1 draw against Loganholme at Wolter Park last night.

New signing Kyu Sub Bang struck just after the hour to equalise after Brisbane Premier League Loganholme took a 60th-minute lead.

The Korean winger took a short pass on the edge of the Logan penalty area, moved left to find space and drilled home a low left-foot shot.

That 66th-minute strike pulled Jets level after Logan’s opener, Jordan Dozzi heading home from a corner six minutes earlier.

Bang and fellow Korean Donggyu Lee both hit the crossbar and Sam Dickinson just failed to convert a low cross in six-yard box as Jets pushed forward.

Eyale Teshager thought he’d regained the lead for Loganholme late in the game, but it was ruled out for an earlier foul on Jets’ keeper Ryan Atkins.

Jets’ fielded a combination of Senior and Under 20 players in their first match since pre-season training started last month.

“We wanted to see what we’ve been concentrating on in training,” said Jets’ technical director Adam Piddick “and I thought we kept possession well.”

Jets next pre-season fixture will be against Grange at Wolter Park on January 7.
