New signing Ella De Silva, who re-joined Moreton Bay United this week, said the club “feels like a home to me”.
Ella was in Jets’ Under 13 and Under 15 Girls’ teams before moving to North Star and last season playing 19 of 21 FQPL 1 games at Virginia.
But the 18-year-old right winger, who was also a junior at ACE, said she is now happy to wear the gold and black again.
“I knew of (head coach) Greg and was really keen to come back,” Ella said.
“I’ve loved the club for so long and feel Moreton Bay is a home for me. I hope to be part of the rebuilding.
“This is where I want to be. To be a team player and give everything to help the club succeed.
Head coach Greg Bradley had been monitoring Ella's progress from juniors into seniors and was keen to bring her back to Jets.
"I have known Ella since she was 12 and have been keeping an eye on her as she played senior football," he said.
"I think she is a player of great potential."
That will hopefully be realised next season in FQPL 1 - a league Ella knows well from last season.
“It will be tough and competitive," she said. "Last season the league was as hard as I’ve seen. We will have to work hard to do well.”
Ella is also no stranger to leadership and the captain’s armband, which she first wore at senior level when just 16.
“If I can guide or help the girls in any way, I’ll be delighted,” she said.
