The first Moreton Bay United Invitational is being held at Wolter Park on Sunday.
Around 300 players from clubs across north Brisbane are sending teams for the day-long tournament, sponsored by iSponsor.
Clubs sending teams include ACE, Brighton Bulldogs, New Farm United, Pine Hills, The Lakes, Narangba Eagles, Samford Rangers, North Star and UQ.
Jets’ Head of Junior Development Mackenzie (Macca) Smith said the iSponsor Invitational was designed to help “engage” with local clubs and players.
“It’s a really big day for the club and the first tournament of its kind,” said Macca.
“We have a Gold Academy Licence and are trying to engage with the community as much as possible.
“With that Gold rating comes a responsibility to those clubs which fall under the Moreton Bay banner.
“This tournament is free to enter for clubs enter and enables them to see what we, Moreton Bay United, do.”

The iSponsor Invitational will have Under 10, Under 11 and under 12 sections all playing on pitches half the size of a normal field at Wolter Park.
Play starts at 10am. The finals will be at 5.30pm and a Moreton Bay Regional Select team, chosen from players at the Invitational, will take on a Jets SAP side, under floodlights at 6.30pm.
“I think that is a big drawcard for those players selected from the community clubs,” said Macca.
iSponsor was launched in 2020 to help sporting clubs, charities and P&Cs raise funds.
Through an easy-to-use shopping app, it connects local businesses to the organisations as a form of sponsorship.
