As another remarkable season starts drawing to a close, it’s time to look back on 11 memorable days at the Gold Coast Cup from September 22 to October 2.
Moreton Bay United win five of the seven available age groups in the cup and had seven players selected for their respective age group All Star teams!
Not only did all the teams perform so well, it was the manner in which the Jets sides played which most impressed Head of Junior Development Macca Smith.

“The cup was a really positive experience for all players over the duration of the tournament,” he said.
“What impressed myself and the coaching staff the most was, while the cup naturally generated a results-based pressure environment for the players, the players remained firm and stuck to our core MBU principles.

“They managed to successfully execute no matter the circumstances or moment of the match.
“This was more pleasing overall than the final results each day.”
Our winners were the Under 9s, Under 11s, Under 13s, Under 14s and Under 15-16 age groups. The Under 10s made the semi-finals and Under 12 just missed out.
Will Zillman and Bailey Santa (Under 9s), Jac Anderson and Whyatt Menyweather (Under 10s), Mikayla Afoa, Emerson Kruse and Valentino Guido (Under 11s) made their All Star Teams.
