With the program expanding in 2023, there are a number of positions available for suitable coaches within the Academy (see below).
All MBU Technical Staff are required to deliver in line with the MBU Youth Development Plan and Philosophy.
These positions will not suit coaches with a team development philosophy, or those not prepared to buy in with our player development methodology.
There is also great opportunity for coaches to develop and progress through the phases of the Academy Program.

Junior Development Lead (Part-Time Position)
A position is available for a suitably qualified and experienced person to undertake the Junior Development Lead position within our FQ Academy Junior Program (U8-U12).
The Junior Development Lead is responsible for the on-pitch lead of the Junior Development Phase under the direction of the Head of Technical Development. This role includes some clinics and school programs. With the MBU Junior Development Phase moving to two FQ Academy teams in each age-group from U9-U12 in 2023, this is an important role within the club’s Academy to provide presence and quality to the growing program.
The Junior Development Lead will provide vital on-pitch support for the Head of Technical Development in the Junior Development Phase and ensure all players are catered for equally.
The Junior Development Lead is required to implement the club’s Youth Development Plan and Philosophy within the program. This position has attractive remuneration attached for a part-time position. As a minimum, applicants will be FA ‘C’ Youth Licence qualified with ambitions on continuing on the advanced coaching pathway.
First Team Development Program Lead (U18 & U23) A position is available for a suitably qualified and experienced person to undertake one of the First Team Development Program Lead positions within our Senior Development Phase (U18 & U23).
The First Team Development Program Leads will be responsible for on-pitch coaching of the club’s highly-talented 17-19-year-old players under the direction of the Academy Director. The First Team Development Program represents a change in structure for our players in this age bracket, with the aim of providing a high quality, highly competitive environment, which is focussed on maximising the strengths of each individual player in line with their Individual Development Plans.
This position will suit a person who possesses a player development mindset, and who is excited about developing the individual over the team.
The First Team Development Program will work closely with the First Team program to provide opportunities for players and staff to progress.
The First Team Development Program Lead is required to implement the club’s Youth Development Plan and Philosophy within the program. This position has attractive remuneration attached. As a minimum, applicants will be FA ‘B’ Youth Licence qualified with ambitions on continuing on the advanced coaching pathway.

FQ Academy Youth Boys Support Coaches (U13-U16) Positions are available for suitably qualified and experienced coaches to join the club as FQ Academy Youth Boys Support Coaches within our Youth Development Phase (U13-U16).
These positions provide great opportunities for ambitious coaches to work within our Youth Development Phase and provide vital on pitch support for the Youth Boys Lead coaches under the direction of the Academy Director.
These positions will suit coaches with a player development mindset who are eager to learn and develop as coaches.
FQ Academy Youth Boys Support Coaches are required to implement the club’s Youth Development Plan and Philosophy within the program. These positions have remuneration attached. As a minimum, applicants will either be FA ‘C’ Youth Licence qualified, or currently completing this qualification. Coaches will have ambitions on continuing on the advanced coaching pathway.
FQ Academy Youth Girls Coaches (U13-U15) Positions are available for suitably qualified and experienced coaches to join the club as FQ Academy Youth Girls Coaches within our Youth Development Phase (U13-U15).
These positions provide great opportunities for ambitious coaches to work within our Youth Development Phase and to lead an FQ Academy Girls team under the direction of the Head of Female Development.
These positions will suit coaches with a player development mindset who are eager to learn and develop as coaches.
