Moreton Bay United has strengthen its senior women’s goalkeeping ranks with the signing of Katie Tealby.
Katie joins us from Peninsula Power and has also played NPLW with Sunshine Coast Wanderers and our opponents tomorrow night Mitchelton.
“I really love the programs Moreton Bay are running and the footballing philosophies Dave’s employing with the girls and the team,” said Katie, who was at North Brisbane in Capital League 1 last season.
“I like to bring good organisation and communication - and providing a high line outlet to be more of a sweeper/keeper.”
“I am very much looking forward to encompassing Dave’s vision for the team and employing their fast-passing/moving tactics.”
David Da Silva, head coach of our women’s team, said Katie has filled a main gap in his squad for the NPLW campaign.
“I am delighted Katie has joined us,” he said, “she brings good experience to our squad and gives us competition for the goalkeeper’s shirt after losing Ro to a long-term injury.”

Ro Petersen suffered a season-ending ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury just before our first NPLW fixture.
Since then Jets have, at the time of writing, scored the second highest number of goals this season (26, one behind Gold Coast United) and conceded the highest number of goals (22).
“Yes, Dave told me about that,” said Katie, “it’s an incredible thing to have … but very exciting.”
Jets' Under 23s face their Mitchelton counterparts at Wolter Park tomorrow (Friday) at 6.15pm before the senior women kick-off at 8.15pm.
