Khiana Shervey has returned to Moreton Bay United with personal and team goals in her sights.
The central striker spent time in the Brisbane Women’s Premier League (BWPL), Capital League and City League since starring with Jets’ Under 15 Girls in 2014.
That year Khiana scored 22 goals in 23 games. Last season she finished with 31 goals (including seven hat-tricks) in 14 games for The Lakes in City League 1.
However the 22-year-old, who is known for her speed, felt it was time to change.
“Last season I was playing for fun,” she said, “but I’ve decided I want to try and go up a level. To see if I can push myself.

“I was thinking, I’ve probably only got a few more years playing serious football and thought about Moreton Bay United.
“I knew the club really cared about developing female players and I thought it might be a good thing to try.”
Khiana helped The Lakes win the BWPL in 2019 scoring 10 times as they beat UQ and Peninsula Power to the title by seven and 13 points respectively.
But the QUT student, studying Urban Development and Regional Planning, wants to improve and joined Jets’ post-season training last month.
“I feel I haven’t had a lot of individual feedback and time spent on individual skills,” she said.
“I love the team environment, but I’d like some individual feedback and to improve a lot this year.
“The intensity (of pre-season training) here is completely different to City League. I’m really enjoying it … and enjoying pushing myself.”
