Matt van Daalen is the new coach of Moreton Bay United’s Under 23 women’s squad and has already started planning for the 2023 season.
He replaces Greg Bradley, now head coach of Jets’ senior women’s side and who guided the 23s to the top four and grand final last season.
“I’m delighted Matt has accepted the Under 23 coaching role,” said Greg Bradley, who is also Jets’ Head of Female Development.
“As part of our coaching team for several years, he knows our playing style and approach which, in turn, will help the continuity.
“I look forward to working with Matt and helping more of our great juniors transition to senior football.”
Matt and Greg are now working closely to prepare both squads for the next FQPL 1 campaign.

“I’m aiming to pick up where Greg left off,” Matt said, “we’ll be bring some of the Under 16s up – we’ve got our eyes on a few of them.
“It will be nice to get a few fresh players in as well. There is interest in joining us and we are talking to some of them.”
Matt has been involved with Jets’ senior women’s set-up for several years and says that experience has “progressed” his coaching.
“I’ve had great mentors in the likes of Dave (da Silva), Gary (Ward), Macca (Smith), Matt (Poole) and Greg,” he said.
“We’ll be using the same style of play and approach as the club’s other teams, but I hope to put a bit of my own spin on it as well.
“We’ll start back in November, have a few sessions, break for Christmas and return in January. It’s exciting and I’m looking forward to it.”
Matt had 12 years playing for ACE, rising through the juniors to the senior side, only hanging up his boots a couple of years ago.
